This workshop provides working definitions of ethics and morals in the workplace. General ethical principles are examined. Various standards within the Code{s) of Ethics are presented along with commentary and case vignettes which support the standards. The workshop reviews various models of ethical decision making.
Major topics include: ethics principles, potential conflicts between ethics code and organizational policies, different aspects of confidentiality, nondiscrimination, dual/multiple relationships, and representative legal/ethical case scenarios highlighting thought processes and actions leading to resolution of ethical dilemmas. Some workshop time is devoted to a review of Social Workers and "Duty to Warn" State Laws.
