This training provides a high-level overview of the characteristics of a well-run business and why it is important for the nonprofit sector to understand, recognize, and run its organizations like a “for-profit” company. The training will focus on the foundational, structural, and operational aspects of a nonprofit that are important for running any business (e.g., key challenges of leaders and solutions; understanding risk management). Many companies do not live up to their potential or just fail due to a lack of attention to the “business” side of their organization, whether for-profit or not-for-profit. By focusing not only on your programs and services but also on those “other” (sometimes overlooked) components, you can be “best in class,” keep the doors open, and make a more significant impact in the community. Hands-on exercises are used to identify operational gaps and risks.

This training will be held on Zoom. A link will be provided one week before the training and a second registration will be required.
