Anyone working or caring for children with speacial needs
Family Road Map is an easy to understand interactive training program to help family members and caregivers navigate resources for a child under the age of 18 with any type of special needs. This national program explains the often-complicated systems for services in the medical, behavioral health, insurance, and education worlds in an easy-to-follow format. Material covered includes information about terms used, procedures, treatment team concepts, laws, and finding support. The curriculum includes a Guide Book and Activity Book, both given to the participants, that are loaded with family-tested strategies, worksheets to log the child’s needs and behaviors, and specific information about each of the systems of care. Participants learn the information through a series of activities and worksheets that incorporate the concepts with strategies used by family caregivers. The curriculum is taught by certified trainers and is regularly updated by a group of trainers through the TUFF (Team Up For Families) Collaborative as part of the Family Road Map Institute.
