Today, it is common for four generations to exist in the workplace. Generational characteristics vary and are a function of population size, political events, technology, and socioeconomic conditions and intersect with culture, race, gender and socioeconomic status. Increased understanding of generational characteristics that affect attitudes, behavior and communication, can maximize the effectiveness of client interactions and improve professional relationships. This session will provide an overview of generational characteristics, discuss strengths and challenges of each generation and utilize a problem solving model for issues related to generational conflict.
