Come learn about Domestic Violence through the lens of the victim. With this lens participants will begin to understand the challenges related to reporting, internal fears around safety and leaving, cultural considerations, and internal cognitive/emotional dissonance that is experienced. In this session, attendees will gain an understanding of the underlying factors related to domestic violence (DV) in an interactive way. The session allows professionals to explore the challenges related to screening and accurate assessment of DV within numerous contexts. Additionally, participants will see the connection between DV and trauma with a specific focus on children and adolescents. Finally, attendees will learn about some resources and challenges related to accessing the resources. CSC will be providing CEU's for LCSW, LMHCs and LMFT's.
