Overall, this training will:
- Provide an introduction to central concepts in the scholarly literature on immigration and their relevance to understanding immigrant communities;
- Offer a critical discussion of diverse policy and social perspectives on immigration and its impact on the experiences of immigrants and those who work closely with them;
- Challenge deficit-oriented perspectives of immigrants and immigration;
- Identify factors that support the integration of newcomers and overall community well-being.

This interactive discussion of case scenarios grounded in immigrant experiences in Florida will underscore the crucial role of hospitable support agencies in the success of immigrants in their host communities.
